2 cup sugar
2 1/4 cup all purpose flour
2 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/4 cup milk
2/3 cup butter
1. In a bowl, beat eggs with an electric mixer on high speed until thick, about 5 minutes. Gradually add sugar, beating until mixture is light and fluffy. In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Add flour mixture and vanilla to egg mixture; beat until smooth. Heat milk and butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat, until butter melts, stirring occasionally. Add milk mixture to egg mixture; blend well. Pour into a greased 13" x 9" baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes, until cake tests done. Cool on a wire rack before cutting. You can sprinkle powdered sugar on top if you would like a little extra sweetness.
