Ingredients

3 cups chopped cooked chicken breast
6 tablespoon butter, divided
1/4 cup dry white wine
2 1/2 tablespoon flour
3 cups milk
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 1/2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
1/2 lb thinly sliced ham
1 cup panko bread crumbs
1 tablespoon fresh chopped thyme
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper

Cooking Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
2. Spread the chicken in a even layer in a 13x9" baking dish coated with cooking spray. Set aside.
3. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt 4 tablespoons of butter. Whisk in the wine and cook for 1-2 minutes.
4. Whisk the flour into the butter mixture and cook for an additional 2 minutes until the mixture begins to turn golden.
5. Slowly whisk in the milk continuing to cook until the mixture is slightly thickened.
6. Stir in the garlic powder, mustard and cheese. Remove from the heat and continue stirring until smooth. Stir in the salt and pepper, to taste.
7. Pour the cheese sauce over the chicken.
8. Arrange the ham over the chicken and sprinkle with the remaining Swiss cheese. Set aside.
9. Melt the remaining butter in the microwave for 20 seconds. Stir the bread crumbs and thyme into the butter to combine.
10. Sprinkle the bread crumb mixture over the casserole and transfer to the oven.
11. Bake the casserole for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown and bubbling.
12. Allow the casserole to rest for 10 minutes prior to serving.
